Inhale, and when you exhale, release-release-release

Hey there, Lightening Bug-

Did I catch you? Are you holding your breath? If you are, I don't blame you. There is a lot of that going around these days - me included. It's almost as if we, as a community, as a world, can't catch our breath. I don't have to tell you what's happening on our planet. You'd have to live under a rock with your ears stuffed with cotton to be unaware of what's going on. Add personal challenges on top and I get why we, as empathic humans, are forgetting to breathe.

I'm not going to re-state the particulars. It's on every news station, magazine/newspaper and social media platform, and I refuse to pray the problem. I'm looking for solutions. Something I can do. Maybe you are, too?

First things, first.....BREATHE. Take a deep belly breath and hold it for 7 seconds and then, exhale for 8 seconds. Then do it again. And again.

Feel better? Me, too. Now let's find a way to have the love breathed back in to us. We have to do it on purpose, you and me, because walking around without it isn't an option. How do you do that? Playing with your roommate's pup? Being around your friends who just "get" you? Hearing music that fills your heart? Looking at the sky above and feeling your roots grounding in to beautiful Mother Earth? It's all Love, all of it. Love is what gives us breath, is the foundation under our feet. Love for others. Love for SELF. From love comes action, because love is the antidote to fear and maybe fear is what's stolen our breath in the first place.

Here are some some links so if you're looking for information, or a way to "do", it's right in front of you. I also want to share a "re-frame" from a brilliant and gifted woman, a Sikh American civil rights activist, Valarie Kaur. Maybe this slight pivot of thought will be just what you need to help you breathe again:

"We have seen darkness before…The mother in me asks what if… this darkness is not the darkness of the tomb, but the darkness of the womb? What if our America is not dead but a country that is waiting to be born? What if the story of America is one long labor? What does the midwife tell us to do? Breathe. And then? Push. Because if we don’t push we will die. If we don’t push our nation will die. Tonight we will breathe. Tomorrow we will labor in love…"

We can't afford to disappear from our lives, not for ourselves, or for the ones around us. Take a breath, Beauty. BREATHE. The world needs your light.....

Big, Big Love, Shaelynn
